Maisie was born and raised in Highland Park, Illinois. Her interest in theatre began at age four when she saw the national tour of Les Misérables. She was a little scarred by Gavroche's end, but enjoyed it nonetheless. She began voice lessons at age 9, and soon after fell in love with singing and performing. She was actively involved in her high school's theatre and choral programs.
